Company KRAFTTRANS is pleased to announce that in September, 2009 our specialists have realized the shipment of the full shipping lot of rapeseed grain from Belarus for the first time in the history.
Monday, September, 7 “Rubyn” ship took 1 968 tons of Belarusian rape on board. The cargo will go to Germany for biodiesel production. Biodiesel is the environmentally friendly fuel, derived from vegetable oils and animal fats, and used to replace (to save) the conventional diesel fuel.
This is the first in the history shipping load of grain from Belarus.
The port of Ventspils has been cooperating with Belarus in the field of transshipment of potassium salt, oil, metals and other goods for several years. Today we add a new page to history - Belarus has discovered the grain port of Ventspils.
JSC "Ventspils Grain Terminal" is a specialized terminal for handling and storage of grain. 72 000 tonnes of grain can be stored in the tanks of the terminal at the same time and the capacity of the terminal is 2,5 million tons per year. Even PANAMAX-type vessels can be loaded in deep-water berth of the terminal. The loading speed is over 1 500 tons per hour.
Now the port is intended not only to stabilize the turnover of the Belarusian grain through Ventspils, but also to attract other types of grain cargoes from Belarus. Exporters of rapeseed from the Baltic countries, Russia and Kazakhstan have already showed their interest in the possibilities of the grain terminal in Ventspils.
